Description

A functional formulation that combines a select group of 8 ingredients (systemic proteolytic enzymes and 3 proven anti-inflammatory herbal extracts) designed to naturally-support the healthy inflammation response process in body tissues, as well as it also tries to comply with the important biochemical and metabolic daily nutritional requirements of the human body to function properly and energized.

To Live Better and Longer, Chronic Inflammation Must Be Defeated

Chronic, low-level inflammation – one that we cannot feel or see – might be the culprit behind our premature aging and death processes.

There is growing scientific evidence that there’s a correlation between silent, chronic systemic inflammation and chronic disease, such as: Coronary atherosclerosis (plaque buildup)-causing heart attacks,  stroke,  obesity,  type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and cancer, along with autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and asthma, etc.

A comprehensive list of other inflammatory diseases would run to over 100, each of which have high levels of chronic inflammation in the connective tissues, or degeneration of these tissues. These include (in alphabetical order) : Ankylosing spondylitis, other forms of arthritis like osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, colitis, dermatitis, diverticulitis, fibromyalgia, hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), nephritis, and ulcerative colitis.

According to a recent TIME magazine article, the recognition of chronic inflammation’s role in disease causation “could radically change doctors’ concept of what makes us sick.”

Scientists are seriously looking at the vast clinical evidence and numerous research studies that confirm the fact that aged people often lose the ability to “turn off” inflammatory reactions, which result not only due to genetic factors, but mostly resulting from bad lifestyle health habits such as poor diet, cigarette smoking, and obesity. In these cases, inflammation becomes “chronic” rather than transitory. The result is that the body’s immune system constantly attacks (similar to what happens in autoimmune diseases) the arteries, brain cells, and joint cartilage, along with every organ system.

The result is that pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as interleukin-6) and inflammatory-inducing eicosanoids (such as prostaglandin E2) wreak constant havoc throughout the body. Two very common   adverse health conditions occurring during recent decades: high blood Insulin levels, along with Oxidative Stress caused by excessive, uncontrolled Free Radicals (due to a low surplus of Antioxidants in the body) – seem to be directly responsible for inducing these inflammatory reactions.

Women are more affected by chronic inflammatory disease than men

The list of inflammatory diseases, and autoimmune diseases, occur far more frequently in women than men. With the exception of ankylosing spondylitis which occurs at a ratio of 3:1 in men. The ratios of the other inflammatory disorders occurs at a frequency up to 9:1 in women.

It is estimated that autoimmune diseases affects approximately 8% of the population, 78% of these are women. The greatest differences are found in fibromyalgia, scleroderma, SLE and Sjogren’s syndrome, where a rate of almost 9:1 is found in women.

About 1% of the world population have rheumatoid arthritis. It is predominantly found in women, who have three to five times the likelihood of getting it than men. Although it can occur at any age, more often than not it occurs between the ages of 20 to 60.

In women it frequently begins during peri-menopause, i.e., between the ages of 40-50, with symptoms typical of oestrogen excess: general aches and stiffness, pain in the joints, fatigue and difficulty sleeping. Many find their symptoms increase just before menstruation.

Let’s make the lifestyle changes to counteract Chronic Inflammation

The good news – for healthy people and for those individuals (young & old) really wanting to gain better health – is that in our functional medicine & nutrition practice we have identified a multitude of ways to significantly reduce the inflammatory cascade, moving one step closer to gaining complete control over age-related chronic, inflammatory disorders.

Among these lifestyle-corrective ways is to altogether avoid the consumption of processed foods, hydrogenated-cooking oils and refined carbohydrates (especially sugars and starches – including grains), all of which have proven to be inflammatory.

As Oxidative Stress is behind all forms of chronic inflammation due to the low level of antioxidants in the body, these should be increased by daily eating antioxidant-rich vegetables and fruits, and via supplementation.

Glutathione is by far the most important and abundant endogenous antioxidant, for which reason it is called the ‘master antioxidant’ and which resides in every single one of our trillions of body cells.   Glutathione is a tri-peptide comprising the amino acids cysteine, glycine and glutamine, and we could find it abundantly in our non-denatured ’WheyIsolate 3x BioActive’TM.

And of course, we’ve designed our SanaSWELL TM functional nutrition formulation with an outstanding blend of select systemic proteolytic enzymes (Serrapeptase, Papain, Bromelain, and proteases), as well as containing potent botanicals (herbs) like the extracts of Devil’s Claw and Ginger roots plus White Willow Bark – to effectively support counteracting chronic inflammation.

In terms of getting additional antioxidant support, we also recommend supplementing daily with our excellent IntegrumTM  formulation.
